5 Months Old!

Age - 5 months old

Weight -16  lbs. 1 1/2 oz. (80% percentile)

Height - 25 1/4 in. (85% percentile)

Diaper Size - 2

Clothing - Wearing mostly 6 month stuff and 3-6 month stuff.   A lot of Halloween outfits lately!

Sleeping habits - We start our bed time routine around 6:30 p.m.. After a bath and feeding Lila, we read three books, always ending with On the Night You Were Born. She is usually pretty sleepy!   This week she's sleeping until  about 5:30 a.m.   Mike and I still love watching her on our baby monitor before we go to bed.  She often flips over in her sleeping, moving between her belly and her back.

Eating habits - Depending when she gets up, she nurses 1-2 times before going to Miss Sue's.  She has a 7-8 oz morning bottle with Miss Sue and a 4-5 oz afternoon bottle.   I nurse her right when we get home, then again before bed.  The doctor said we'll hold off on introducing cereal one more month since she's doing just fine with the breastmilk still. I'll already starting to look into what foods I'm going to make!

Favorite activity - Rolling over (back and forth), giving kisses, staring out the window, playing in the rain forest.

Next year I'll get to trick or treat like the big kids!

Playing in the rain forest at a play date.  Andrew had a super cool monkey in his!  I LOVED it!

Cutest Moment of the Month -Her figuring out that she could roll over!  All she wants to do is roll over and she gets so excited when she does it.   She also has started "singing" along with us more and more... even though our songs are silly, she loves them!

Milestones - This was the month of the roll over...  Three weeks ago she started rolling over like a mad woman...  back to belly.   She's even been sleeping on her belly some nights, which the doctor assured us is okay.  This past week, she started going from her belly, back to her back.  It's really cute!  She just "throws" herself back.  She also gets frustrated if she can't roll back over.   She's also started sprouting more hair!   It's so soft, crazy, and cute!  We also were given the green light to experiment with a sippy cup with water... she's not too interested yet!   She also was on on the 10:00 p.m. news last night, her first television appearance!

I made the 10:00 p.m. news with Andrew and Amelia! How cool!

HAIR

Look at all of my blonde hair!   Mommy thinks it's really grown a lot this week.  Some of them are getting really long!   Mommy also thinks that it looks a little curly.  I'm not sure, I just know I love pulling on mommy's hair!

And if you were wondering, yes, that's a spider in my hair!   Mommy found it on babysteals.com, her favorite new website.  Daddy doesn't really like mommy's new find.

Shanti

I received this from the owner of the studio where I do mommy baby yoga and where I did prenatal yoga... had to post it.  Thanks Anne!

This came in a yoga teacher newsletter I receive. Just had to pass it along, of course!

The world is not only at work (karma), it is also at play (lila). The Sanskrit word for play is lila. If karma says that everything happens for a reason, lila says that there is no reason, sometimes things just happen, sometimes we just have to receive. It is the openness, it is in being receptive that ANYTHING can happen. Lila is the invitation to the possibility that playtime doesn't have to end in our youth. The playground only expands with time.

Shanti,

Anne

I'm so thankful...

That my daughter has the power to make even the worst day at work disappear.

Lila's getting SO BIG!

Today was a special day since it was Columbus Day... which means I got to spend the whole day with Mommy!   We had an action packed morning filled with a doctor's appointment, Babies R Us trip, & Trader Joes.  Then we had over Meghan and Hailey for lunch.  Hailey is only three weeks old and made me look HUGE!   While Hailey was over and napping, I played in my rainforest.   I rolled over all by myself... making sure I got over my arm.  I haven't been rolling over a ton, however I felt like today I should show off for my younger friends...

After Meghan and Hailey left, Mommy and I headed out to Plainfield to see Auntie Kellie and my newest friend, Owen.  He is tiny too (When he was born he was 7 lbs 1 oz)!   He actually makes me look really big.  Look at the pictures!

Owen was just born on Friday, so of course I look bigger... I think mommy really realized hanging out with the other babies today that I'm growing up so fast... (sorry about the drool... I'm teething and LOVE to chew on everything and drool).

Once we got home today I was showing Daddy how I can roll over a lot easier... sometimes, my arm gets stuck, but I really try my best!   Tonight, I even surprised mommy and daddy by rolling over in my crib.  They thought if the turned me back over that I would say on my back... because "Back is Best".  Silly mommy and daddy... I wanted to be on my tummy!

Overall it was a fun day and I'm glad I had one extra mommy and me day!!!

High Chair

Today at lunch we decided to sit Lila in her high chair so she could sit with us. We put her Taggies book and a few toys on it to keep her busy. Once we got her situated we started eating. She then started reading! I promise, we didn't stage these pics... She was looking at the book all on her own... It was too cute! I hope she's turning into a reader!!!

The Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch

So as you can see above, I am plenty ready for the Halloween season.  We have lots of fun Halloween things from friends and family, as well as some things we picked out... including Halloween leg warmers!   So when we had planned on going to the pumpkin patch, we had lot of different pumpkin cute clothes to choose from to keep me warm...  however we didn't plan on the Indian Summer day it was today... but we loved it!!!

At first, Grandpa picked out a pumpkin for me that was just my size.  I thought that it was like apple picking so I tried to eat it.

Then, mommy and daddy put me in with the pumpkins... and they said I was the cutest pumpkin in the patch!   I was more interested in the grass than I was the pumpkins.

Then, I stood up holding a pumpkin... I love being on my feet!

I think this pumpkin we're sitting with was the one that Linus was waiting for...  Mommy read that story to me last night.

The whole pumpkin picking crew...

A beautiful fall picture with my Nana and Grandpa!

Then we went inside and they had lots of fun crafts.  Mommy thought it would be cute for me to hold this and take a picture for Auntie Neener, she loves candy corn.

 I can't believe I can't eat it.

We wanted to buy this for Auntie Neener's lawn...  but she doesn't have one.   Nana bought us a big pumpkin that says our name on it for the front lawn... then there are three little ones that say all of our names... as soon as the construction is done outside, mommy will post a picture... they are SO CUTE!

I started to get a little sleepy so it was time to go... we didn't pull out of the parking lot before I fell asleep.  I had to rest up for Mommy Baby yoga this afternoon!

Happy Sunday!

Hat Model

Everyone knows I love a good headband, but with fall in the air, I'm loving hats! Mary HT and Mimi are working on some hats mommy saw on Etsy. The pumpkin is actually mine!

Naptime!

Since it was Saturday, I napped with Mommy! I fell asleep trying to eat my feet! I wonder if this is a yoga pose....
