Look who's four months old!

Age - 4 months old

Weight -14  lbs. 15 oz. (85% percentile)

Height - 24 2/4 in. (80% percentile)

Diaper Size - 2

Clothing - Wearing mostly 6 month stuff... and even some of those pants are too short!   Some of her 3 month still fits, however not for long!

Sleeping habits - We start our bed time routine around 6:15-6:3oish. After a bath and feeding Lila, we read three books, always ending with On the Night You Were Born. She is usually pretty sleepy!   This week she's sleeping until  about 6:45 a.m.   Mike and I still love watching her on our baby monitor before we go to be.  She also no longer uses her pacifier to go to sleep... if she takes it, she spits it out or likes to grab and play with it.

Eating habits - Depending when she gets up, she nurses 1-2 times before going to Miss Sue's.  She has a 7-8 oz morning bottle with Miss Sue and a 4-5 oz afternoon bottle.   I nurse her right when we get home, then again before bed.  The doctor said we'll hold off on introducing cereal since she's doing just fine with the breastmilk still.

Favorite activity - Playing in the rainforest... as well as taking baths.

Cutest Moment of the Month - Honestly, she has so many things that just make us feel so blessed...  She is laughing for longer periods... deep belly laughs that are so cute.   She LOVES seeing Cara in the morning when we get to Miss Sue's, her face lights up for little Cara!  When I pick her up, she has the best smile on her face...  Since she's teething, she's trying to eat or "gum" everything... fingers, hands, apples from apple picking, watches, you name it she loves it.  She's also starting to cuddle with some of her blankets and toys when she's in her car seat.  Her Sophie giraffe is one of her absolute favorites.

Milestones - Lila is teething... confirmed by the doctor today.   She also is able to hold her head up a lot better as well as stand and put weight on her legs... which she loves doing.  The doctor said today she had wonderful muscle tone and her grabbing and reaching for things was a great development.   She's always grabbing for things to put in her mouth!

I was so excited to be up this morning and wearing my new leg warmers!

I'm ready to start my day!

I'm exhausted from a great day at Miss Sue's that included a 2 hour nap!   I also got shots at the doctor today, so I'm zonked.  Mimi says I look like my mommy... who loved sucking her thumb!

 So sleepy!

 Dreaming of my next outfit....

Mommy had to get out the blocks for our monthly shot!

Dreaming of what my new friend will be... boy or girl... Auntie Kellie is due any day now!!!!

Shanti.

Apple Picking

Last weekend we went on our annual apple picking trip with the Biardo and Tone Families.  Last year, this trip was actually when we told the Kuhr sister's that their first niece was on the way!   We had a beautiful day for picking this year.   Lila love the apples and really enjoyed Mary B trying to feed her a doughnut.  Mike was the man in charge with the big picking stick and we got some great apples.  I'm planning on trying to make some baby applesauce for Lila and freezing it for when she can start eating it... YUM YUM!   Luckily, the bees were only pesty by the cider house so we were able to enjoy the beautiful orchard and wonderful company.

Forget smiling for a picture... I want that apple!

A Stinky Situation

Last night we had delicious spontaneous chili dinner with some good friends.  Towards the end of dinner, the ugly stench of skunk crept in the dining room...  Needless to say Wrigley and Summer were waiting at the back door, smellier than ever.  In addition, Summer's eyes were as red as the tomatoes in our chili... They were skunked.   Looks like the Bears game was going to have to wait.

Thank you to Mary B and Meghan who offered phone advice.... Thank you to Elyse and Lindsey for running to Walgreens for supplies... Thank you Mata for having latex gloves in your car...  Thank you Michaela for helping rinse the dogs and for taking pictures...  Thank you Lila for sleeping through the entire ordeal...

Also, I have an amazing husband.  Mike rocks.  I love you Mike!

Forget my thumb, give me my toes!

I am becoming pretty excited about my toes! Today, I thought they looked like my fingers so I tried to eat them!!

No thanks mom, I prefer my thumb!

I know it's hard to see, but Lila is now LOVING her thumb... forget the paci!   As soon as we put her in her crib, the thumb comes out!  She's so cute with it!

We also found out today that Uncle Ben and Auntie Jess are expecting a boy!   I'm excited for my new cousin and will hopefully be able to pass on some fashion pointers... however not my tutus and headbands! :)   Looking forward to meeting my new boy cousin!

Flower Girl Debut

On Saturday, I was the flower girl for Auntie Neener's Wedding.

The day started with some hanging out at Mimi and Pop Pop's house.  It was a little chilly so I got to test out my new leg warmers!

Look at how pretty Auntie Neener looked.   She was such a beautiful bride!!!

Even though I had a major poop explosion during church, Mommy and Daddy were able to keep me looking my flower girl best.  Thanks to Uncle Ben for helping Daddy with my poop EXPLOSION!!!  I think everyone in the church knew what was going on...

This picture made mommy a little nervous...  Liam and I are hanging out in the grass in Millennium Park!  It was my first time there (Mommy and Daddy's too).

Being a flower girl is hard work.   I was at the reception until 10:00 p.m.!!!  Then Auntie Kari hung out with me in our hotel room next door.   Too bad I was too tired to play!

I slept for 10 hours in my hotel crib!   And was happy to be awake and go to breakfast after the wedding.
Overall it was a great wedding weekend, but I'm exhausted.  I've been taking a lot more naps, last night I even slept 13 hours!!!
